Mount Tomanivi (previously known as Mount Victoria) sits on Viti Levu island and is the highest peak in Fiji. There are numerous trails leading to the top of this now dormant volcano and most of these trails will take no more than 3 hours to complete. Once at the top you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of various villages around the base of Mount Tomanivi, the rest of the island and the ocean. The terrain is known to be very rugged near the peak and can be challenging to those who are unfit. It’s also best to avoid going up Mount Tomanivi during the midday heat – so it’s best to go early morning.
