Things To Do In Koh Samui

There are so many things to do while on holiday in Koh Samui but I will only give a brief overview of the 3 biggest tourist attractions here – the festivals, scuba diving and of course, the beaches.

Attend Some Of The Festivals

There are many cultural and religious festivals held on Koh Chang Island.

Some numerous events and festivals take place on the island throughout the year and it’s best to plan your vacation here to coincide with a festival if you would like to attend. The most renowned festivals and events here are the Triathlon Event, the Samui Regatta Sailing Tournament, the Buffalo Fighting Festival, and the Ten Stars Samui Art Party.

Scuba Diving And Snorkeling

Scuba diving and snorkeling on the Thai Islands.

There are several spectacular coral reefs which is why the island has seen a steady increase in scuba divers from across the world visiting here over the last decade or so. The island is also ideal for first time and beginner divers and snorkelers because Koh Samui is renowned for being one of the safest places to enjoy these activities. Any time of the year is great for scuba diving here but the ocean water around the island is at its clearest during June, July, and August.

Visit The Beaches

The beautiful beaches of Thailand.

What would a tropical island be without jaw-dropping beaches? Luckily, Koh Samui is a pretty big island and has a lot of exquisite beaches for you to enjoy. The most popular beaches are found on the south and east coast of Koh Samui and include Lamai and Chaweng Beach while the beaches along the north coast are more quiet and secluded than the east coast and you will find numerous coastal villages dotted along the coastline there. The west coast offers the most peace and quiet as its the least developed side of the island.

When To Go

The climate is dry and hot all year long and the only real rainfall is during October and November. Despite the rain, it will still be hot and the rain never lasts longer than an hour at a time. Therefore any time of year will be a superb time for visiting.
